SQL Server Client Tools Installation

In order to install SQL Server Client Tools follow the below steps:
1. Start installation by clicking on ‘Setup.exe’ file

2. Wait for few seconds, it will open wizard which contains different options like Planning, Installation, Maintenance, Tools, Resources, Advanced and Options.

3. Next, Select ‘Installation’ in next wizard will have options like
New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to existing installation
New SQL Failover Cluster Installation
Add Node to SQL Server Failover Cluster
Upgrade from SQL Server 2005, 2008 and 2008 R2

4. Next, Select ‘New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to existing installation’ option. Then proceed with clicking OK on ‘Setup Support Rules’ .

5. Next Select ‘New Installation or add features’ option, then enter product key, then select ‘I accept terms and condi...’ Option, ‘Next’ button will take you to Feature Selection page.

6. On Feature Selection Page, to Install SQL Server Client Select only following features:

- SQL Server Data Tools (In SQL 2012) OR Business Intelligence Management Studio (In SQL2008)
- Client Tools Connectivity
- Client Tools Backwards Compatibility
- Client Tools SDK
- Management Tools – Basic
- Management Tools – Complete
- SQL Client Connectivity SDK

As shown in below




Then just click next, next and Finally on "Ready to Install" Page click next... Proceed with your installation. Wait for few minutes.
